Delirium frequently complicates Intensive Care Unit (ICU) stay [1,2]. The costs accompanying delirium are high [3], mainly due to an increased length of stay both in the ICU and in the hospital [1,4,5]. In addition, delirium is a burden for patients and a risk factor for long-term cognitive impairment [6].
