Minor salivary gland biopsy (MSGB) is a minimally invasive, safe and low-cost diagnostic procedure. It is mainly used for the diagnosis of Sjögren's syndrome (SS), by identifying the presence of lymphocytic sialadenitis [1–3]. The value of MSGB has also been reported in other inflammatory/infiltrative diseases, such as amyloidosis, granulomatous diseases (sarcoidosis) and IgG4-related diseases [4].
