Streptococcus pneumoniae infection is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with autoimmune inflammatory disorders (AID) treated with immunosuppressive therapy [1–4]. Despite international recommendations for pneumococcal vaccination in patients with AID [5], vaccination coverage remains worryingly low in this population [6,7].
