Myocarditis is a complex inflammatory disease, usually secondary to viral infections or autoimmune processes selectively involving the myocardium [1]. Thyroid dysregulation, often triggered by similar underlying mechanisms, has been in turn associated with a spectrum of cardiac diseases [2]. However, thyroid function has never been investigated systematically in adult patients with a new diagnosis of endomyocardial biopsy (EMB)-proved myocarditis.
