Clinical Research Seminar
BACKGROUND
Initiated in 2003 by the European Federation of Internal Medicine EFIM) and supported by Servier international, the seminar has been held annually from 2004 until 2009 in the facilities of the Servier company in the Paris area. Each year a maximum of 14 residents (young internists) coming from a total of 27 different European countries participated at the seminar. The selection of the participants was made by the organising committee, Prof. Daniel Séréni (F) Director, Prof. Loïc Guillevin (F) and Dr Chris Davidson (UK). Ten to twelve French and international speakers gave talks and interactive teaching sessions during each seminar. The duration of the seminar which was 2 days at the beginning was extended to 3 days in order to fulfil the participants’ expectations.
The objectives of the seminar are to give young internists an upgrade in their abilities to participate in clinical research, and to facilitate the development of a network of young clinical researchers inside the EFIM.
