Physical inactivity is an important determinant of weight gain and development of obesity. Among multiple determinants of body fat gain over time, special consideration has indeed been given to insufficient physical activity as a behaviour that may favour positive energy balance as well as to physical activity environments that may facilitate, or limit, an active lifestyle [1]. In addition, the development of obesity is associated with decreased habitual physical activity, physical fitness and everyday mobility.
