Spanning from helicopters and ambulances to hospital intensive care units, emergency and urgent care are required for respectively life-threatening and non-life-threatening sudden needs that require prompt care [1]. Although easy to distinguish in theory, the two types of care have been historically mixed in practice in most European health systems, where accident and emergency (A&E) hospital services have meanwhile become the pillars of urgent care after having generated a high rate of trust in common people.
