Performing a randomized controlled trial (RCT) is considered the best way to answer a causal question in clinical research [1]. While RCTs are frequently designed in close collaboration by physicians and methodologists, this cooperation does not exist after the study is published. Clinicians are left alone to interpret RCTs, frequently lacking the training to do so, and are forced to take their interpretation to the bedside [2].
